Nagle Rice - A legacy of two traditions of excellence
Principal's Welcome
As Principal of Nagle Rice Secondary School, Doneraile, it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to our website which will give you an insight into daily life in our school reflective of our welcoming culture of respect, inclusion and diversity.
Nagle Rice opened in September 1992 and is a co-educational Catholic voluntary secondary school under the Trusteeship of the Edmund Rice Schools Trust.
Nagle Rice aims to provide the very best education for all our pupils. We strive to provide pupils with excellent teaching and learning where we expect each student to work hard and reach their full potential. We are committed to our ethos that places the care and nurturing of our students to the forefront of our activities. All aspects of a student’s growth and education are at the centre of decisions made in our school. We also value the tremendous support and active partnership of parents/guardians, students, staff and the wider community for the school BOM, under the chairmanship of Fionuala McGeever.
A feature of our school is the warm, welcoming atmosphere where positive relationships between staff, parents and students are highly valued and of extreme importance to us. Though academic and sporting successes are so important, one of our main ambitions in Nagle Rice is to support and direct our students to become well rounded individuals, developing mentally, socially, emotionally and spiritually. In striving to achieve this, Nagle Rice offers a well-rounded education and caters for the different needs, abilities and talents of all our students. This is evident in the curriculum as well as the co-curricular activities which are offered in our school. As a learning community, we are committed to continuously engaging with new methodologies and practices that enhance our learning and teaching.
On this website you will find information regarding life in Nagle Rice Secondary School. I invite you to browse our site and I hope that it will provide you with insight into the range of opportunities which are on offer in our school.
Should you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact the school. We always welcome your calls and enquiries.
